i should have just accepted my first round offer and stuck with it. there have been rumours about the stability of Monash Universities IT Faculty, and now the press have published something about it. Read me bitches! so, as it turns out, some angry professor, who has just been fired, is making a backlash at monash. maybe it's purely based on anger, or is there some truth behind it? as a monash IT student, i really can understand the point made by Prof Kendell when she says "he has kept unqualified people, people without PhDs, people who are known for their bad teaching but who keep quiet" - take a look at the organisation of the majority of my subjects this semester. yesterday, i spent an hour on the bus getting to uni and when i got there, i was told to sped another hour on the hot bus to go back home as there was nothing to study in my tutorial class because the head lecturer had not provided my tutor with any revision material for the upcoming exams which start next week. should i be a bit concerned about that subject?
last semester i was unfortunate enough to fail a subject. now, in normal circumstances i would be extremely annoyed at myself more so than what i am. but the core subject which every single monash IT student must undertake was lecturered by this perfectly qualified lecturer. sure she had her PhD in... stuff, and the research she did was phenomenal, i'm sure all this is true. but has anyone thought of teaching her how to lecturer or manage a subject? i went to ever single lecture that was timetabled and i did all the work, tried my hardest on all the assignments and i still managed to fail that subject. i'm repeating that subject this semester and with a new lecturer on board, i have a very positive outlook on my result.
my bad. this turned into an essay. im going to stop now. bye bye.
ps. swinburne i love you. i want to come back please.
