i had to wear my glasses today. boy did i look the nerd. being in my IT course, with my glasses and laptop. sexy.
so, its back to normal. emma is the butt of all salonas jokes again. oh the joy. actually, its kinda bumming me out. but meh. whatever.
today was filled with beautiful lecture goodness. my computer systems lecture seems like a waste of time, as i can't understand what the lecturer is saying on account of her accent. and from what i gather from other people, all she doe is just read off the lecture notes. so i might just give up on that one. at least she isnt running the labs too. then id be screwed.
eric came to uni today. that was ever so fun. he's so small and able to go anywhere. i love him. he even fits on the shitty little lecture theatre "tables" unlike the other beasts people have.
hmmm... alex just went offline without saying goodbye. so damn rude.
tomorrow i get a sleep in on account of I have no 3 hour computer programming lab first thing. YESSS!
This carpooling thing seems nifty though. hmm... i can smell... something...
something... illegal smelling... althouh it possibly might just be my oil burner... which isn't burning. strange.
im hungry. food time.
oh! yesterday, i found a place at monash that sold boscastle pies... for $3.90!!! thats a whole dollar cheaper than at work! and they are the worlds best pies too. but meh... i get them for free at work. bwah ha ha haaa...

first day of uni
well, i went to uni today. first day and all. exciting stuff.
it was pretty much what i expected. no LAN party invites as yet though. at one point i realised it was just like how uni is in the movies. i was sitting with a group of people on a big grassy knoll, deep in conversation.
when i went to explore the place by myself, ben found me. and i was left alone with him for a gruelling 30 mins. I found out that I have every single class exactly the same as him. oh the joy. i messaged salona, asking her to save me. but she was too scared. wuss. but then julia and adrian saved me. thank god.
i also met up with tam and alex. was fun. shes got this awesome scooter that im very jealous of. and alex looks well, apart from his skinny-ness.
after some time, my contacts went all crazy and my eye (yes... only the left one) started to water. v.embarassing.
my first lecturer was the guy who ran the enrollment day, so that was cool. he seemed pretty cool then, and he seems to have his own style, and control over the room. the second lecturer, i just couldnt understand. but from the looks of her notes, she just seemed to go over the same things as the first guy... just general welcome to uni type shit.
tomorrow should be cool. i have 2 lectures in the morning, then the afternoon off. woo! and i get a lift in with greg and co. woo! no bus ticket and freaky bus commuters to put up with! just freaky IT geeks with crazy music tastes.
tomorrow im going to take eric i think. or maybe on wednesday. it will be his first big day out. he hasnt been outside into the open world yet... or connected to a foreign wireless network. itll be like losing his verginity. wow. itll be a big day.

oh the joy.
so i woke up from my nap today to really super hard rain. it was scary.
i then remembered that my house isnt a total house, so i had to run around with buckets and towels. at last count we have approx. 7 leaks in our roof. and only about 5 bucket type objects to collect water.
we also now have a little river flowing down the side of the house. at its deepest its about half way up my leg. so i dunno. maybe 20 - 30cm deep.
now its raining again. not so hard this time. and its hot. argh.

alex lost his passport at a stripclub
i went to a trivia night tonight. and one of the guys that won the raffle, i had a major crush on when i was in year 6, and he was my age. i had no idea what i was thinking when i was 11 years old.
p.s why are the only questions i get right about spiderman and star wars?
the angus post.
does anyone know the exact date of angus' return? i think im actually missing him. the other night i was on msn with no one to talk to, angus is always there to talk to. damn him for getting himself educated and rich and stuff.
he's missing out on a lot. im sure he'd love to try and figure out who lady godiva is.
and i need to tell him that i joined the outdoors club at monash. and i really really want to be in the canoe polo team, but i think they train thursday mornings when i have a lecture. argh. damn them. they are clearly missing out on my skills and talent. heh. skills.
i also need to complain to someone about having no money. and i really have no money. i promised polly i'd go to her trivia night... so there goes my last $15. And payday isn't until next thursday. i think i'm in trouble. Plus i need $40 for some camp thing... 'carnage' or something. man. i also need to tell angus about my surf-skiing adventure.
i also have to tell him all about the breads at browns, and which ones dont have bakers flour. which reminds me, yesterday I had the worlds best chicken schnitzle sandwich yesterday. mmm...
now im off to buy notebooks for uni, get money and work. joy.

free beer
wow. when they say free beer. they actually mean free beer. and wine for that matter too.
today i went to o-week, and it was pretty dandy. i got there, got lost... but was found by some girl that was in my group at the IBL interviews. The one that i didnt like much... hmm... So we made our way to the lecture theatres, and I was saved by Jon, Salona and co. I then had to endure almost 2 entire hours of Salona and Jon annoying the fuck out of me. But I kept my cool, i didn't snap... i was a good girl. The bullying continued after the orientation lectures as well, but hey, ive had to put up with it for the past 2 years from Salona. It's all like water off a ducks back... isnt it Salona. hmmm...
after an expidition to get food (where, might i say i got one of the best schnitzle sandwices ever) Jon, weird overfriendly blonde boy and I went to sign up for clubs. Due to my poorness, I could only sign up for the Outdoors club... who weren't offering free beer. and i think it was possibly the most expensive club to join too. great.
However, have no fear people! Jon and I managed to get free wine from le french club and 2x free beers each from the... something else club. maybe skiing of some crack like that? There also was a free chocolate bar somewhere, but i lost that. slash, i think it was stolen.
after clubs n stuff, we headed down to the billiards room. where i beat jon at snooker. and when i say "i" - i mean team emma beat jon. which was basically just weird over freindly man. who might i add, is really creepy in his over friendlyness.
i would just like to say, that alex officially is pathetic. he cannot even win a simple game such as Monopoly. or Mario Kart!!! i mean, sure, he could be forgiven for being totally shit at monopoly, because its in dollars, and not pounds. but mario kart?!?!?! there is no sympathy there.
and on goldeneye!!! thats a totally different story. alex is a geek at heart, who games a lot. who is doing computer science. and who thrives on first person shoot em ups. yet... i managed to kick his ass. (except on the mines one, when i lost due to suicide)
that is all i have to say today.

wow. wow! wow... so coral, when you said you wanted an ocean view, you didnt think you were going to get a whole ocean!
i have a few things to say.
i am now officially free. free of all... anything.
right now im watching finding nemo with alex.
we are also currently in the process of concieving our second child.
it feels like twins.
shortly i am about to play alex my entire dandy warhols collection. as he is in the process of being converted into a fan.
im in severe pain at the moment. as yesterday i went down to port melbourne life saving club with this random from uni, and not having used my kayaking muscles since october... they were put to test. on top of that im slightly sunburnt. hmm.
yey!!! nemo got out of the sucky thingy!
that is all
p.s i rule at monopoly.

napping is better than sex.

everyone is totally insane
i think my neighbours just saw me naked. perverts.
i was sitting in my room after my shower, working out what to wear today, whilst listening to PJ Harvey (to bring you my love = awesome) and my blinds were a tiny bit open. Which is pretty normal, as I never close them, and never open them, so i compromise by having them maybe 1/4 open. as im only in my room in the daytime for 1/4 of the enitre time im in there. I dont care about the blinds being open as we have a mega huge fence that no one can see over. But if you are in my front garden, then I suppose you could see right into my bedroom.
So, in the corner of my eye I see movement. I freak out, because the last time i just got out of the shower and there was movement, there was a giant spider crawling all over my body.
But it was just my neighbour chasing after her fricken dog in my front yard. With her disgusting high pitched voice.
Totally unrelated now... I was in the biggest dilemma this morning. See, I'm very proud of my legs at the moment, but I have to shave them before Saturday due to the fact that I'm meeting some random stranger to try out surf skiing or some crack like that. And I think i would make a better impression on him if they were shaven. So I was planning on shaving them this morning, but chose to sleep in. I will take some happy snaps of my legs tomorrow morning before the big shave-off. Because in my opinion, they are quite awesome. Not that I'm a tad biased or anything.
Ok, now i actually have to get ready for my hot day with my spanish fly.
And PJ ended... so thats an even better reason to leave.
p.s hey amy! guess what song came on my playlist? Autumn Shade. <3 p.p.s hey amy! don't it make you feel good? p.p.p.s for any perverts out there, i have learnt my lesson... my blinds are no longer open after my shower. and i dont have a regular time that i shower, so unless you want to camp outside my house for a week, hoping that my blinds will be open... there is no nakieness for you. p.p.p.p.s i have the police on speed dial, and will call if i see any mysterious tents pop up outside my house.

maybe alex shouldnt read this one...
today after i got out of the shower, i did as all normal people do, and wrapped my towel around me. after this towel wrapping experience i decided to go and check the time, as there is no clock in my bathroom. So i made the trip out to the kitchen where I found that it was 12.27pm and seeing as though the clock was right next to the fridge, i decided to scavange for some food and/or beverages. I then went to my room, and put some music on and as soon as the disc started spinning, i felt this... movement on my chest. i figured it was just a drip of water from my hair, but i then felt more movement going UP my arm. Now, I never actually studied physics in school, but from general life experiences, I have learnt that water drips downwards, rather than upwards. So I looked down, to find this hugely massive huntsman spider crawling up my arm.
so, come to my house at your own risk people. there are spiders hiding in towels. i now have a phobia of towels. great.
in all of my bank accounts combined... i have $1.79
i owe my mum - $120 Isabel - $10 Kumiko - $15 Lucy - $10 Angus - Birthday Present Fruitshop - 1/2 Apple Megan - $0.33 Sportsgirl - $119.90
I'm also pretty sure that I owe Polly and Alex money too. But if you are reading this and you think that I owe you money, or a different amount from whats stated, then please tell me.
Tonight is Payday. And I plan to make myself even with what i get paid. YEY!!! i love payday.

i love you even more than being seventeen
according to the calendar, today is Valentines day. It wasn't very romantic though.
let me take you all through my day. i know its not over, but meh... close enough. So here I am, Listening to "save us SOS" by Hot Hot Heat. I haven't heard this song before, but i think i can safely say i like it. I'm also wearing my welding mask so that i can teach myself to type without looking at my fingers. I figure, now that I am a full time geek, i should at least be able to type properly.
mmm... now im listening to godless by the dandy warhols. man this is a good song. last night i downloaded an entire show from November 26th last year. It was the most awesome setlist. if anyone is particually interested, and im sure no one will actually be interested... but go here. The 'I love you' and 'moving out' versions are really quite good. i like them both better this way than whats on the records. Other than that, it sounded like a pretty good gig to be at. The Dandys are off making a new record at the moment. So you know what that means... a tour! woo! yesss. and ill be 18. even better!
yes, so today i woke up with dad telling me i have mail. i dont know why this was so important that he had to wake me up for, but he did. and then i was in a grumpy mood all morning. In my grumpy mood i decided to look up this valentines day character, he's a bit of a shady character, no one seems to know who he actually is. anyway, so i was in my grumpy mood... until i got to the bus where i was meeting kumiko. i hadn't seen her since early december, cos shes been in japan. but she is back (although she has to jet over there next week again) and well. we had a pretty awesome time getting lost and found again. my new game rocks. here are the rules. think of about 5 different 3 digit numbers, eg. 521, 022, 922, 703, 619 then go to metlinkmelbourne.com.au and type the first number into the quick search. say you used 521, then you loose out, so you go to the next number... 022. this tram merged with the 08 tram a few years back, so in this situation, you either take 08 at you final number, or you get your next number, 922 and whack that in wuick search, and you end up with your starting point, and destination. Southland Shopping Centre - St Kilda Light Rail Station (via North Brighton). Or, if you chose to stick with the 08, then its Toorak to Moreland. And thats the game. You then have to go on that route, whether it be bus, train or tram. Kumiko chose the number 022, so we chose to take the 08 tram from Toorak to Moreland. But we failed miserably as I was in charge of getting to the tram in the first place. as it turns out, Toorak Station isn't the same as the Toorak on the 08 tram route. So we got on the next tram... which happened to be the 72, and we got off at chapel street. We then saw the bowling place, so we went bowling. I was winning... but due to some unfortunate errors, which were not my fault, we drew. 98 points each I think. I do have photos, but that involves hooking up my phone to the computer, and if the chord isnt in an arms reach of me, then you all wont get to see them. you people better feel privilaged, because i went into the other room to get the chord. here is also a photo from yesterday of kitchy raping polly on the beach.yes, so after bowling, we went and ate at oporto, then to sportsgirl because i need new jeans, then went to coles because kumi needed a toothbrush, and we had to get valentines day presents for Pat. She got him chocolates, and i got him toothpicks and homebrand panadol.
On the way back to the station we stopped and said hello to humphrey. polly - he's looking pretty sexy.
When i got off the train i went down to my local sportsgirl and put the jeans i tried on at chaps, on hold. plus this nice top. and, id just like to say, that i now have a pair of size 9 jeans. hahaha, what a joke! size 9!
then i came home. and got all grumpy again. i think just whenever i see my dad i get grumpy. i know that sounds really cruel... but its true.
happy valentines day everyone.
The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 Cups of Coffee
When things in life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hoursin a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee.
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he silently picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.
He then asked the students if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full.
They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. 0f course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full.
The students responded with an unanimous "yes."
The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.
"Now," said the professor as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things--your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.
The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.
The sand is everything else---the small stuff. "If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued,"there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.
"Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18 holes.
There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.
Take care of the golf balls first---the things that really matter. Set your priorities, The rest is just sand."
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked.
It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

current mood:
dissappointed.
i came to the realisation today, that i have become the person i didnt want to become. i started school at st leonards in prep. i finished 13 years later in year 12 at the same school. I am now going on to a university, of which 1/3 of my school ends up at. i have just become one of "them"
but i think i'll overcome this. i like change, and i think to grow as a person i have to realise that i am not who i may have thought i was, and this in itself is change. i will have to change myself. and i think it will be for the better.

rubble to riches
today paul, megan and myself went to laverton. the laverton markets to be precise. we also managed to go to altona as well, but that wasn't planned.
we had a list of things to get, but the Kamahl vinyl was not found, which is incredibly strange, as almost every box of vinyls you come across at markets has kamahl vinyls. but we searched through multiple boxes, but to no avail. the reptile paraphanalia was also not found. however, we did manage to find our souls in jars. and right now my phone is being very stubborn and it wont let me upload the photo of my soul in a jar. but anyway, we paid $1 for 3 souls. quite the bargain. (i had to go onto my other comp, and then send it to myself on msn. how ingenius of me!)
paul got a couple of records, a buddha megan bought a phone as well as a ninja turtle. oh! thats something else i got. a splinter doll. i have a video of it.
all it does is light up. its head, arms and legs move minimally, but its the best $3 i've spent in a long time... well, equally as good a $3 as my other purchase which you can see in the background of that video, but heres an exlusive photo. yes, that is right... i now have my very own Blue. pretty awesome eh? now i just need my own steve :P
but i still havent got to my most ultimate purchase. and my god, its pretty hot. Megan and Paul just thought i was a complete loser for buying it, but i can now say i officially have my very own...
WELDING MASK!!!
woo! here is me with the mask on. you never know my emotion with the mask. perfect for going on dates with, cos if you are having a crappy time, you look the same as you do when you're having a rockin time. and if you start crying because your date left for an hour long toilet break, you can just put down the... thing... and here is what its like wearing it. i feel like such a bushranger... if only my best friend was orlando bloom. *sigh*
i am very excited about that purchase.
megan and i also got these nifty little... things (i have no idea what they are) from some man giving things away. so after walking around the huge markets, and man - they were huge... we went home. and paul left his guide to being a mormon, which he bought for $1 in the car.
at home i got bored... but couldnt find anyone to entertain me. so i napped... and later found out that i sleep walk, and sleep hygeine-ness myself (long story)
then jono and i were going to go on an escapade. but he bailed on me.
the end.

im not sure if its just me but...
dont you think its weird how when you go to the toilet before a shower, you always pull your pants back up, even though they have to come off again straight away to get in the shower?
p.s another reason to love wireless internet: you can come straight out of the shower and without putting clothes, or even a towel on, you can make a blog post. p.p.s 10,002 hits!!! woo!

Random Things that have happened or are currently happening to me Today
Today has been semi-interesting
Woke up at 8.49 to get the 8.59 bus.
I went to Monash today to enroll in the Bachelor of Business Information Systems
there is a strange white poodle-like creature outside my house
i missed the bus this morning due to my slowness...
i even ran to the bus stop, but just before i got there the bus pulled away. so sad
student ID cards + me + stoned id machine operator = Douchebag ID cards
Met nice new people
one of which, Jon - knows Aaron Skovell. poor guy
another was this guy called aaron, of no relation to skovell though. hes a chef. and by the sounds of it, he is a pretty damn good one too.
Jon rocks, he kayaks... but in the sea... weird
got my 3rd number from 3 different boys at 3 diferent Uni visits, from 2 separate Unis. go me!
I peed in a Public toilet today. ew. there were dead flies in the bowl.
at work i had to close with lucy. she was jetlagged and slow. well, that was her excuse. im not sure what her excuse was before she went away.
"oh whatcha gonna do? splash me?"
got out of work extremely late.
i found out today that to hire a rowing boat for an hour, it costs $28. Thats $20 over my budget.
i also found out from the same source, that my friend james thinks lucy r (not work lucy) is hot. now its on the internet for the world to know.
i need new underwear.
i still havent written my grandma a letter with the $250 pen i bought with her money.
I decided today that I would love to see the entire first 7 tracks of 'thirteen tales from urban bohemia' played live, then track 10 for an encore.
bus drivers are perverts
i almost drowned and froze walking around monash in the rain today.
dont you think its funny that when i enrolled at swinburne, there were blue skies and a warm breeze, but on monash enrollment day it was miserably wet, cold and horrible.
mother just put the poodle-like creature back out on the street, after feeding it, because it didn have a collar and if we sent it to the pound, they'd put him down after a number of days if he wasnt collected. poor thing.
that is possibly the end of my random toughts about today.

bipety boppety boom
i just watched "Cinderella 2 Dreams Come True"
i dont think i need to say much more.
news update at 12.06am - i just finished watching all of the special features on the cinderella 2 dvd. my life has just officially turned hopeless.
so come on get your shoes on!
so this is probably the first unforced yet substantial blog entry in a while.
here i am... in my underwear, in bed with eric... and i couldnt be happier. well, i could. and im hungry so after this paragraph im going to go out to the kitchen and put a chicken swiss cheese and leek pie in the oven. I also just wrote a massively long email to lachlan updating him on what ive been doing recently... (*) ok, we are nearing the end of the paragraph... and we know what that means! PIE!
ok. the pie is in the oven. but now im sad, as i went to check my diary to see what time im working today. as it turns out im working at 1.30. massive bummer. i only have an hour or so to finish this post off and get ready. argh.
So for those of you on the edges of your seats wanting to know what alex and i got up to the other day... here you are: it was an action packed day of waking up at midday and watching 7th Heaven, Oprah and Ready Steady Cook. Then i decided i should unenroll from swinburne so that monash dont get angry at me. which may i add, i am looking forward to. monash should be fun. So we rocked on over to swinburne in the middle of peak hour school leaving time, and got incredibly lost trying to find the administration building. but we found it eventually. then i went to go and check out the Hawthorn Browns. Talk about crazy. They had like no stock left, so it must have been a big day. Where did we go next? Oh yeah, off to southbank... where there wasnt all that much, except for an incredibly boring dragon. Then i showed alex where the casino was, just for future refernce incase all he had left was $5 and he had to live on that for an entire month. Then came pizza, lost money, bouncy balls, picnics and 15c and then home again. But before home we hired out 6ish movies, including clockwork orange (awesome movie) cinderalla 2, DiG!, starsky & hutch, star wars (bonus material) and the notebook (noah = perfect man). Then Amy came over and we watched the notebook, then she left, then came the rest of the moves. still unwatched is cinderella 2, starsky and hutch & star wars. So angus, there you go. you asked for it, and now you got it, a detailed explanation of yesterday.
now i need to write something entertaining for amy and alex, as they tried to pressure me into writing a blog entry last night. but i have come up with nothing entertaining. im sure that there day will be filled with sitting on the couch and watching TV. fun times, and thats entertaining enough for them.
man, you know when you rediscover the brilliance of CD's? i've just done that for like the 98172847th time for Breathing Tornados. Whenever i go through my CD collection to find a CD to listen to i always overlook that one because its old and ive listened to it countless times. But man, its good. YEY!!! I'm up to Nighttime - awesome song. And next after that is Burn to Shine. Woo!
I'm worth my weight in gold, watching the crowds unfold. late start velocity - nighttimes making a mess of me. (best part of the entire song, is that little piano bit like 3/4 of the way through.)
ok. its pie eating time now. so i shal end this post with an amusing picture i found today.
i got paranoid about something i wrote so i had to take it out it was here (*)
also... candid pictures of alex sleeping and showering to come. stay tuned.

a picture for bloggy mc blog
big cats and fried goats
yey! eric is working! i love him to pieces and pieces! and hes sooo damn cool and hot and rockin and powerful.
enough about my one true love... onto my other love...
myself. so today i went to the spice markets with mum. that was fun. oh, and alex is staying over for the weekend... which has extended to monday too because amy needs more time to make her house a love shack. rose petals take tme to grow, and insence takes time to burn. last night we decided to be cool so we went to some seedy pub with old men in it. then we came home and watched poker on tv. we are incredibly cool. so cool infact, that we played solitaire for a while tonight... and talked to each other on msn when we were less than a meter apart from each other. now we're both blogging.
like i said - very cool.
tomorrow i think we might go into the city. i dunno. i will keep you all up to date, because i know you are all on the edge of your seats wanting to know.
so, back to eric. he is awesome. here is a picture i took of him the other night. he's pretty hot eh? anyway, i had a few technical difficulties with him the other night. i partitioned the drive to put linux on, as i already tried a live version of ubuntu before, and the internet worked fine... but when i put the full version on it died a horrible painful death and i couldnt get on the internet which was sad. so alex and i tried to fix it, which in the end did happen. although my drive is still partitioned... which isnt cool. and i think i lose everything if i put it back together. so hmmm... decisions decisions.
must be off... apparently there is a spider situation in the bathroom.
p.s i have turned into a mutant crab like creature. just thought id let you all know. but my talans dont affect my typing capabilities which is good.

we have to send her off for her monthly norton
salona has hardcore internet sex and gets trojans.
here is the crap part of the day...
i have to go to work...
and even worse...
i just found out im going to monash. which i suppose isnt THAT bad as they are basically giving me like $40,000 to go there, but maaan... its monash. argh.
Emma's Day as 11.46am
9.30ish - woke up 9.31ish - remembered that i didnt have to get up to go to work or check my email 9.35ish - stopped smiling 9.36ish - kicked cat off bed. and when i say kick, i dont mean violently, it was more of a gentle push. 9.37ish - turned Eric on. And when i say Eric i mean my new computer... and when i say turned on, i mean reached over and pressed the on button. 9.37.30ish - fell asleep again from using too much energy from reaching over to the other side of the bed.
for arguments sake, I was asleep for 22.5 minutes, which brings me to... 10am - woke up again, started smiling as i saw that Eric was all ready to go, all signed into msn and flashing the "2 new email messages" sign. 10.02 - was dissappointed to find that the emails were from pay pal and village cinemas.
the next hour consisted of downloading stuff, and uploading stuff to make Eric the best and most efficient baby ever.
at about... 11.30 - i physically got out of bed, got some clothes on. and relieved myself from a nights worth of retaining liquids. 11.36 - went out to the kitchen to get my chocolate croissant. mmm... old pastries. 11.41 - came back to my room and ate croissant and unknown brown substance from a jar. it tastes like nutella... but not. 11.45 cleaned up and logged onto blogger 11.46 - started writing this post. 11.55 - pressed the "publish post" button

eric arrived and he is beautiful. More beautiful that i could have ever imagined. he is the perfect child. i may even eventually get over his birth defect too.
1.8Ghz processor + 1Gb RAM + 80Gb HDD + less than 2Kg = Beauty in a nutshell
i also got the wireless router working, which is mighty fantastic. I dont know what my range is, but so far it works in every room of the house. But i still need to secure it, as basically any stranger off the street now can come and hack into it.
i also have to work out how exactly i can make my printer work off the network as its own separate node. does anyone out there want to do that for me? warning: my printer is old-school.
now my young and foolish friends, i am off to work out the wonders of eric. my first child.

excerpt of an email i sent angus
im going insane. my laptop isnt here yet. the router is... which was supposed to arrive WITH the laptop. but no fricken computer. so i have been left with marking out the dimensions of the laptop. (its about the size of an A4 piece of paper) and i've been typing. on the fricken piece of paper... and finding places in my room where it will fit. and god my life is sad.
in other news... which is basically the same news - the computer i found out has a IEEE 1394 port - which i had no idea of what it was. but it turns out to be a firewire port. which is nifty... if i liked firewire ports... but i dont. so that will be poor erics/ericas birth defect.
i might cry now. i want it so bad. they cant do this to me. waaah! its like the birth of my first child.
the last supper
