Big Day Out 2006
as the title sugests, today i shall be writing solely about the sunday that just passed. i shall say now, if you want, just go through and look at the photos, as they are worth a thousand words... but im still going to write a thousand words anyway, just because i'm cool.
it was one very good day. It consisted of blood, sweat and tears. No blood or tears from me... but im sure that somewhere there would have been some. i mean, there were like 40,000 people there, so odds are that there would be.
The day started off well, we all met on the train, or the station... i really can't remember. But we eventually got there, after yucky trams and queues and yucky children trying to bash through the queue it get to the yucky tram. Needless to say, I was one of those yucky children.
So we got to our destination, which was new to all of us. Princes Park South turned out to be one pretty cool venue. i'm still undecided if its better, but i think it might actually be.
We managed to get through the entrance... with me and alex always ending up 10m behind everyone else. i think the others just hated us. which wouldn't surprise me as i forgot to put deodorant on that morning, but i have no excuse for hating alex. maybe because hes british?
So we all rushed over to the Converse Essentials Stage, which just happened to be all the way up the other end of the park. We got there and bashed our way through to the front to see The Grates. They were pretty damn good. And Patience is the coolest chick in the world. Possibly even cooler than me. here is a picture that amy took on my phone. so please all excuse her for the crapness. just blame it on the phone. it doesnt have feelings.

After that little burst of pop music, we trotted over to the Boiler Room to see the Presets. The Boiler Room really does live up to its name. maaan was it hot in there. sweat was pouring out of every orifice of my body. yummy.
The Presets were good, but there wasn't much energy from the crowd. Which is sad, because it was my first time seeing the presets, and their gigs are well known for the audience just going off. but i'll try to see them some other time hopefully. Julian is one cool guy. Possibly one of the best dancers too. (thanks to melody mars for this one! i didnt take the photo, but i saw her take it, so i guess that counts. and maaan, was she different to what i expected!)

After the Presets - Aims, Alex and Myself headed off to the orange stage where we went into the D to see Gerling. They are one of Amys favs, and i totally dig most of their tunes... but to start off I thought these guys were a bit... bland. I guess the fact that they were as high as kites didn't help. But when the lillypad guys came out with massively giant balls, the crowd started getting into it, and the band fed off the crowd. It turned out to be one of my best experiences in the D. Actually, probably the best for the whole day. But no one was there to share it with me except the dude next to me (dylan? dixon? dilbert?) as amy and alex went off to see sarah blasko. man did they miss out. I was dancing like a crazy fucker, let me tell you!
it's quite interesting to see who watches bands side stage. watching gerling was the one and only lord mayor John So. How very exciting. I then headed over to the Blue Stage (for those that have no idea about stages... the Blue and Orange are next to each other, and they share the "D" which is like a giant mosh pit. but mainly the front of the D moshes.) so i could stay in the D for Magic Dirt, but before they came on there was one more addition to my highlights list - John So made a speech. "Get Weady to Wock Malborn!" hahaha, he's so awesome. The crowd loved him too. I went to search through the mass of sweaty bodies to find lucy, who was right down the front on the barrier. yey for having cool friends! Magic Dirt were pretty good. Not the best, but Adalita is one awesome chick. I want her babies.
We then headed off to find lunch. We ended up paying $6.50 for a chicken burger. Thats something that browns would charge... but it was far from the gourmet quality of browns.
Then we went to Sleater-Kinney where we were attacked by a crazy lesbian who said that we weren't enjoying it because we took a photo. we were there for like 30 mins... and we did really enjoy it too. some people just spoil the fun. silly flanelette wearing drunk feminist.
We then had to scedaddle to go and watch Wolfmother, who were v.good too, but the mosh looked to hectic, and you never get a good view from in there, so we watched from afar which was cool.
Sorry, I'm being lazy with the photos now, but when i have them all organised, ill post them.
After 20 or so minutes at wolfmother we hopped over to Lillyworld.
I didn't know that you had to be 18 to get in there, as when BDO was at the showgrounds anyone could go to the lillypad. But they decided to put it in with all the booze this year, which is good because there are some fairly x-rated things going on over there.
So I had to get a wristband that said I was 18. So, naturally I had a slight problem there. But have no fear people - once again, sarah f-j pulled through and saved the day. man i love that ID. she doesn't even look anything like me, the only thing we have in common is the fact that we are female.
Anyway, so I got in, and Luch and I made ourselves comfortable on the giant bean bags, whilst watching the Bumhead orchestra set up. These guys were awesome. We had no idea what to expect, but we soon worked out that all the musicians were local, and generally didn't know how to play the instruments they were holding.

after this, polly, lou and luch then decided to be mega ghey and get their photos taken with big g. photos to come. get ready for sex.
after the bumhead orchestra, we had to quickly rush to go and see the go! team. but we didn't rush, and i got angry so i left by myself, but ended up missing them. then i found alex, isabel and amy in the queue to the D for the Kings of Leon - who, may i just add, were brilliant. The only shit part was the spiggen caketaking tall people infront of us. fuckers.
Then it was dinner time! yey! the other 3 ate baked potatoes, but meat eating me had a hot dog. v.satisfying. In the background we could hear Henry Rollins, Beasts of Bourbon and the Living End. Quite an interesting mix eh!
I'll just add here, that the guitarist from End of Fashion had my singlet on... but in t-shirt form. which probably explains the two little boys, one with an EoF t-shirt on looking at me. And I thought it was because I was hot. How depressing. But mighty cool, as EoF are cool.
Then after dinner we went and watched Franz Ferdinand, who were very good. Isabel and Amy danced like darryl, and Alex and I just laughed at them, as did all those who were surrounding us.

then we rocked on over the the mars volta. i think amy summed this performance up perfectly - "it was like a religious experience" which is pretty damn right. These guys were my highlight by far. I dont know how to write about them... they awere just a.w.e.s.o.m.e.
The bit when omar and the sax dude were jamming... amazing
the time when the twirly lights turned on... stunning
the part where i got jabbed in the arm by a cigarette... painfull
but the pain went away, because cedric and omar are just fricken magnificent.
no photo can sum it up... and all mine are shit anyway, but here is one anyway.

So after that orgasmic experience, we left half drowned (because the silly security decided that we were all hot, so he drenched us in chilly water... for like 10 minutes) and rocked on over to Iggy Pop for a few seconds, and then went to get some places to see the White Stripes. Isabel and I tried to get into the D, but failed miserably. So we were ages back, but we still thoroughly enjoyed the music. Isabel even got up on my shoulders to watch for a song. That was fun.
Jack White is one cool guy. a good performer too. And the part with the vibes/xylophone thing was rockin.

after that was over (early as well... silly kids got tired and finished early!) we all met up at the giant battery and john howard, and rocked on home.
All up it was a fun and big day. I'd have to say it wasn't the best BDO, but then again, i've only been to one before this one. so i can't really contribute to that argument. But i can say i was very happy with princes park. It was really easy to get around from place to place. but there weren't enough water stations... or ATMs. And we wanted more doug, didnt we amy?
Here are some random photos from the day to keep you all entertained. There will be more coming, just i'm lazy... slash my friends are lazy and wont upload them.

it's easy to fall in love
i was on my route home from work tonight, when i saw this teenager up infront of me wearing a BRMC t-shirt. As it so happened, i was listening to BRMC at that very moment, so as i past him i said "oh no, no there ain't no easy way out!" and he just laughed at me and said i was cool. Then i grunted. not because i was unhappy... but because the grunt is the best part of the entire song.
also. i found this mildly entertaining.
yes. this.
lucy and amy
tonight lucy and amy had hot lesbian sex in the middle of acland street. and everyone was watching. including the sic-rays. even the fugly ones were watching.
then they made out on the merry-go-round. well, the weren't on the merry-go-round. but they were next to it. so thats hot.
p.s amy and alex are having babies together.

excerpt from emmas diary #1
I'm blogging in the dark, butt naked and it's before 6am.
Am I some kind of sick mutant nerd creature?
We are in a blackout... again. The stupid power grid just picks the worst times to fail.
Today was going to be v.exciting, but it won't be anymore. Although I still am going to see hot gay cowboy sex, so that will be good n'est pas?
Yesterday was mighty good actually. I woke up early and had a fun walk to work, but alas, I was an hour early, so I wanted to sleep out the back but Emma made me work, which is good for the finances I assume.
Extra hours of holiday pay are fun.
After work I trotted back home and got ready for my Triple J Hottest 100/Australia Day/Alex Meeting/Archie's Birthday/Hot Day party. Which I think worked out well.
Alex is a nice boy. quite awesome in fact.
He's english, he likes Muse, speaks cool and eats seasoned hamburgers of the extreme variety.
The Day before yesterday, which would have been Wednesday, Angus & I went out for dinner to celebrate 10,000 hits on my blog. We don't have 10,000 yet, but I guess it's better to do something whilst you are aware it's coming rather than just forget about it and remember later.
That day I also went to the beach for fish and chips with megan. Because she is cool.
My eyes are starting to droop, so I better fo something porductive or I may just fall asleep here.
p.s I rally have a huge craving to watch DiG! right now.
p.p.s The Dandy Warhols were on TV last night. That is another good thing, even if it was extremely painful to watch.

i think my mum is my role model. how scary is that!?!?!
i would just like to make a note, that polly got my bra undone last night without me knowing. and i am very impressed.

I am now officially a Swinburne Student
So, I enroled today. Set me back a nasty $312 which was unfortunate. Now I'm going to have to be ultimate stingey at BDO (6 days! Woo!) but it doesn't bother me that much. Also, before I forget, which I doubt... but i bought myself a new computer yesterday! :D :D :D YEY!
Anyway, today I had to head over to Hawthorn to enroll. exciting stuff. Made a few mates, which is good, but semi-unfortunate, as the odds are I may never see them again. But We'll just see. You never know, monash may not keep their word, and I'll be stuck at Swinburne. Which doesn't phase me in the least because I think i'm in love with Swinburne.
After that I got some food, and then went to channel 9 after a tour of hawthorn/kew from jim. for a while i've said that kew is super boring. but the moment we got to the main kew junction bit we whitnessed an accident... involving a very fluroescent cyclist, and a car. But the man was ok, he walked off the scene, after lying in the middle of a busy intersection for quite some time.
Then at channel 9 i asked some celebrity man for the time... i think he was a news reader. not sure, but he sure did look familiar.
So then I just sat around and looked cool and celebrity-like whilst reading Good Health Magazine or whatever it's called.
After like 5 minutes of reading it, I have concluded that I have so many diseases, I am going to die shortly. And the way they were describing Introvertedness you'd think that was also a disease. Joy!
Anyway, must be off. I'm already running late for an appointment in Sandringham.

i'm taking every opportunity i get
mother isn't home yet. which is good, because normally i work until 6.30, so by the time i get home shes on the computer... but alas, i worked the early shift today, so I'm home for free reign on le computer. thumbs up for me!
today has been fairly slow. we were slow at work today, and then i came home and napped, then i woke up, then i came and researched a gig me and amy and megan are going to go to, then i started blogging.
Yesterday at work, Georgia and I were fed up with the shit music we have to listen to, so she suggested the living end... which we were both unsure about, as were an upmarket cafe, and the living end aren't exactly up-market cafe material. But then she remembered she had her CD case in her car, so we put on Buble, and then some flute CD. Which was v.lucky, as at about 4.30 the boss from head office came in to check out how our store is going.
lleyton hewitt lost his match last night. so i'm v.happy about that. man i dislike that guy.
i'm listening to the black rebel motorcycle club at the mo. i'm totally loving their latest.
hmmm.. mother is home, so i might end this totally useless and random post there.
oh! can't remember if i told y'all... but monash have decided to give me a scholarship. the dude sent me another email last night. go me!

yesterday i got burnt bad
yesterday i went to the tennis. it was fun. thats pretty much it. it was actually v.fun.
and half way through Nicole Pratt and Mary Pierces match, this dude from monash gave me a call telling me he will pay money for my babies. more on this in february when the 2nd round offers come out.
But the day before yesterday... the monday i found out that i was accepted into the Bachelor of Business Info Systems and the Bachelor of Business. It's a double degree type thing.
I have some pictures from the tennis, but most of them are on lucys camera... so i'll have to wait.
or i'll just put the ones from my phone up. that sounds like a plan. hmm... i've been posting a lot of photos recently. it's almost turning into a fotolog with words.
oh, and just looking at my phone, i remembered i went to jonos party/gathering last night. that was fun too.

there are more on lucys camera where we are honorary chilians. chile chile chile! eh eh eh! viva chile! heeey!

my weekend as the third wheel
so apart from working this weekend, i spent the rest of it as the third wheel... pretty much. but it was mighty fun tho. On Saturday Arvo/Night, after a killer day of stomach cramps at work, I went to the docklands to go and see The Whitlams play with Jono and Rihana. To avoid any confusion there, I was with Jon and Ri, and the whitlams were playing by themselves.
It was a pretty good gig. It was free, which made it even better. however, I probably would have paid a few dollars just to be warm... as the docklands + jeans + t-shirt = not warm.

tim freedman is one nifty man.
heh. and there was this cool heckler there. (random fact, which is totally random... but i wrote it for personal memories only. note to self - beer/totally legless)
Then we got on the city circle tram... did 3/4 of a circle, and got off. We then wandered around the city trying to find something fun to do. but failed miserably. so i came home JUST in time to see the last 15 mins of Gilmore Girls. (v.exciting... can't wait until next week!)
So that was my exciting afternoon, and boring night.
Sunday Morning I worked again, joy. Then that night I saw Jon and Ri again, and we wandered the streets of brighton... to find ourselves in Bililla (see my post about my walk home from work)
Here is the finished result.

for a short time tonight i had over $2000 phone credit
Some of you may remember a few weeks ago, Charlotte, Brodie and I went on an expidition to pakenham to find slurpies. On the way we picked up a hitchiker. He was semi good looking. he told us he was in a band. he gave us the website addy. and we looked him up, but to no avail.
it turns out we had the wrong spelling or something because i was looking through my phone tonight, and i'd written down the address...
www.violentdisorder.comAnd wow. possibly one of the most amusing things i've seen slash heard since james told me he was totally stoned whilst being interviewed on Triple M.
The dude we picked up is the one second from the left in the ripcurl jumper.

i think he does vocals. v.amusing. i wouldn't have picked it myself. although... come to think of it, i doubt any metal vocalists would actually talk how they "sung" as that would be kind of... weird.
he's pretty good looking yeah? well he was when he was in the backseat.
Your hidden talent is lying
You are able to lie to anyone and get away with it. Sometimes you even do it for fun. You are specifically skilled at acting and bluffing during poker. And you know that to be a good liar you should give lots of details, to be a great one you give no details at all.

My Journeys to Work
I think my walk to work is pretty cool. so i would like to share the experience with you all.
The walk involves alleys, historic houses and beautiful public gardens as well as your usual subburban streets extravaganza.
My journey often starts at 6.30am or a bit later if i'm running late. I walk down my street, which isn't particually exciting, except for my hot neighbours who i think stole my dads credit card which makes them less hot. they also play shitty music at their parties (which i haven't been invited to yet) - the only good song i've heard them play is a dance mix of Deceptacon by Le Tigre.
I walk past the building sites in my streets before the builders get there (which is a good thing as the builders there are really seedy. except one... who isn't too shabby)
Here is a picture from the top of my street. It's not very good, and you can't see any of the major landmarks such as the hot peoples house, my house or the bulding site. click it to make it big.

Then i walk for a bit, and end up in angus' street, but i only stay in there for about 20m. However in that short space, there is this awesome car.

it's a car made of beer!!! v.cool. speaking of cool cars... here is an uncool car that was in my street the other day. it's a VW van... but with a porsche sticker on it.

And on the other side of uncool. here is my future car... which i WILL own one day... but in the colour known as lime green.

Then comes the little alleyway. which was cool when i first started going down it, but now it's just another part of my journey.

Then I pop out and find myself in Bililla House or whatever it's called. Which is like this mega huge old house. I love walking through the gardens. Some mornings there are Baloons in the distance.

But the most exciting part of that leg of my journey is the giant talking tree. We don't have conversations, it just likes to talk to the other trees, who never seem to answer back.

After that I end up in Pollys old street. The first time i walked down it, i got mega confused because it twists and turns weirdly. But in order to take the shortest route, i almost get myself run over.

Then half way through Black St, there is this small stretch of pavement which, no matter what, i will always trip up on. even if i concentrate on trying not to trip.

The second alleyway i go down is scary. as the camera in it always watches me. ASIS are spying on me. i also have a theory that every door intercom thing i pass is watching me too.

After the creepy camera, i have to pass creepy nicholas' restaurant.

Then i'm in church st, which is the home stretch. Then i have to walk round to the back entrance, and i'm at work.

a post for sarah
well... sarah complained that i wasn't blogging. so here is a post. the reason why the lack of blogging is because i've had nothing to blog about. so the past two days have been mildly exciting, so i'll fill y'all in on them. and sarah, i gave you a portable blog, so you wouldn't get annoyed by the lack of posts.
ok. so come to think of it my past two days have been fairly average. but not in comparison to the weeks before where i was working 40 hour weeks. all i did was eat sleep and work.
So on monday, as in yesterday... amy came over to my place as we were going to go on a hot date. so we bussed, trained and bussed again over to acland st. we got falafals and they were goood. the nigth before we had mega falafal cravings, so they were quickly taken care of with a trip to the flalafal kitchen.
With our stomaches taken care of, we wandered over to rare records (best store in universe. amy is marrying the owner - cedric) and amy got a Tori DVD, and i picked up a t-shirt for a mate. The website for rare records is pretty silly. they said they have a velvet underground t-shirt. then when i get to the store... they don't actually have it. AND on the webiste there is an ad for a poster of Tori Amos' melbourne show. but in the store when you look at it, the poster is actually for the perth gig. silly website. but best store. i spend hours in there. they have so much stuff.
Then we went and got ice creams from 7 apples, and headed over to the park to eat them. but i couldn't finish mine on account of it being too sweet. We then went to Luna Park, and as we entered the mouth, we were greeted by "and they don't play ME on the radio!! ... Catch my Disease!!" which was a mega turn-off, but it was luna park, so we had to go in. We wanted to go on the Ferris Wheel. But it costs $7. As did the Ghost Train, Merry Go Round and the Scenic Railway. mega shit.
Then we wandered back, and we went our separate ways. amy to her chiro, and me to kew.
Kew was interesting. i'd never been there, and all i knew about it was that Dr Hayward lives there, and at 140 Cotham Rd, theres Canoes Plus. So i got off the tram and i had some time to kill, so i went and bought some quality reading from the newsagency. (WHO weekly, i love you)
Canoes Plus, as i later found out, was just 3 doors down from the newsagency, but i never saw it. which is mega sad.
Kew seems like a bit of a hole. Although apparently i didn't see the main city centre bit, just the tram stop basically.
So i met up with my second date for the day. Made my transaction amongst other things, and was off again back to South Yarra. (tram and train ride = v.confusing)
Pollys fiesta was fun. Except at 5am when Pol and Lou decided they'd make some form of dinner in the kitchen. The kitchen is joined to the living room in which i was sleeping... so yey for me and not much sleep.
Speaking of sleep, i might just wind this lovely blog post up very quickly as i'm super tired and i need sleep... and the person i was talking to on msn has left... something about ham sandwiches.
So the next morning i woke up, then went down chaps and spent far too much money on CD's. I can't tell le mother or i'll be le shot. But i can now successfully get rid of 4 CD's on my CD want list. (also mega thumbs up for me for finding meet the real you by noiseaddict. i've been looking for it everywhere. so yey! $8!!!) then i went back to pols to drop off some stuff, then went on my 3rd date of the week, with Lach into the city to wander around.
Then back to Pols to be the door bitch at Sebs farewell. Unfortuanely both Aaron and Evgenny were both on the list, so i had to let them in... along with their bitches.
Then i came home, and here i am. ready to go to schleeep.
i'll blog again soon kiddies.
oh, and sarah, hope you're having a blast. good luck with the field hockey, you'll be ace! have fun walking through the fields in your Wellys and under your Brolly walking back to the house for puddin'

moth
today was a very pleasant day. actually, it was above pleasant. It was a very good day indeed.
I awoke to Charlottes voice screaming "WASABI!!! WASABI!!! WASABI!!!" - dazed and very confused, i then realised it was my ringtone, and that Charlotte was trying to call me.
So i picked up, only to find that she was 10 minutes away. So i got up, got dressed, cleaned myself as best i could and ran down to the station to pick her up. She then gave me my Christmas present from myself. A singlet.

and my shoes which i left at her place at schoolies. We then went to southland. Whilst departing the car, my mum goes to me "don't buy any more CD's!" - now i couldn't help it if the first store i see is JB Hifi, and they have the Flips Yoshimi album there fore $10 could i?
Then we came home, and i said au revoir a charlotte. And then i went to work. work was good. Totally fucked up though. This guy asked for a pie, and I'm so used to making coffees, and asking people if they want sugar in their coffee, so i asked him if he wanted sugar with his pie. Sugar sounds like sauce!!! i swear I'm normal!
Then I came home. and here i am. I'm not actually sure what made today so awesome. I guess just nothing went wrong, and I was always having fun. Plus, I saw Charl, who I've seen many times in the past month... but before then i hadn't seen the kid in 2 years. So any time i get with my best bud is good time.

Thats Char and her massive chicken sandwich.
Quotes from the Overworked Staff at Browns
"A Beef and Burgundy Pie? Sure! would you like sugar with that?"
On phone to a customer: "Good morning! Bakers Delight - how can I help you?"
"Would you like your bread chewed? or as is?"
Customer: "I'm looking for a cake for a 2 year olds Birthday party"
Browns Employee: "How about a Tiramisu?"
Browns Employee: "You drink a lot of Coffee! What do you do?"
Customer: "I'm a Truck Driver"
Browns Employee: "My son wanted to be a truck driver. But i wouldn't let him. he is too good to be a truck driver"
"Have you seen my buttons?"
Browns Employee #1: "Eew! This Muffin is Mouldy!"
Browns Employee #2: "No, that's how it's supposed to look."
And once whilst someone was cleaning, they accidentally pressed the Panic Button, but didn't know it until 5 minutes later, the street was filled up with Police Cars, and the shop was raided by multiple policemen with guns and hitting sticks.

Happy New Year Kids
i always thought the Scissor Sisters were sucha a joke band. And to some extent they are. But I saw some documentary on rock music, and the influence of gays, lesbians and trannys. Anyway, the main singer dude from the Scissor Sisters was on it, and he raised some amazing points that I had never thought of. The band has been one of the only breakthrough clear and honest gay/lesbian/tranny bands since bowie practically. I mean, that song that made it big... what was it called? Take ya mama out? that was a perfect single for the radio, but their album, which was a big seller was very blatent in the equality of all.
So, this is my first post for 2006. Just ignore that random Scissor Sister mumbling at the start there. it was just on my mind and i'm too far away from my journal to write it down.
I got home 45 minutes ago. Last night was fun. I had a very good time indeed. Perhaps I shouldn't have mixed too many substances like I did, then I may have had a better time. but, hey what can you do, that's all in the past now. In fact, it was so long ago it was last year.
I'm about to upload the pictures from my phone onto here. so it'll be interesting to see which ones i remember. i think i also made some movies too, so you lovely internet perverts can see my friends dancing like freaks.

That is us (amy, polly, lou sitting down... and me lying across the backseat due to the lack of seating) in the backseat of Isabels mean machine of a go-go-mobil. Amy, Lou and I went on an expidition to buy me some more booze as my local bottleshop ran out, so I was only left with minimal supplies of Smirnoff Blacks and Pink.

This is Amy. After the bottleshop expidition, we came back to isabels empty house and we were cold. so we all put on her jackets.

this appears to be me and sarah. i'm not sure if there is a story behind this one.

Sarah.

this appears to be a very tripped out photo of Isabel, myself and Salona.

so here is a better one of the 3 of us.

From here on in, the photos appear to be 2006. not 2005.

look at Vera's tongue and how it is not the appropriate tongue colour. and then take pity on me when you see what the tongue was touching in the next photo.

eewww... thank god i can't remember this.

and this last one is of the sexy dance by Lucy and Polly.
Now i shal try to do this video business. hmmm... not working. working now. i love FTP.
Here is the
First Movie. It's of Lucy. And here is the
Second Movie. It's of Lucy and Polly dancing I think. It's the same as that last photo. just more action... and more dark.
Best Wishes for this year kids.
