The Byron Blog #29

Today has been a sleepy last day in Byron Bay for me. This morn I had a bit of a sleep in, then Lucy and I wandered down in the blaring heat to meet up with Pat, Kumiko & Sarah. 'Twas pleasantly pleasant. We had kebbabs from Bay Kebabs.

Today was boring, so now I shal go on to speak of my day yesterday which was one of my best so far.
The morning & early afternoon consisted of the Byron Bay Markets. Then i wandered home and chilled on the beach for a while. Back at home I chilled with the dudes. The Nimbin weed seemed OK. not great. but OK.

Then that night, Polly, Amy, Lucy, Lisa & I went into town and dropped Luch off at Byron Central appartments because she wasn't feeling 100%
So I took her fake ID and easily made it into the Great Northern Hotel (SFJ i love you!) because Pol, Amy, Fisa and I went to see Dan Kelly and the Alpha Males! woo!
Awesome gig.
The band room at the place was quite big, and quite empty. So i sat down at the front and was soon joined by Pol, then Amy and Lisa.

The first support band were surprisingly very good. They played well together, with some rockin' tunes.
As it turns out, the lead singer of Augie March, Glen Richards was the second supporting artist - so that was a pleasant surprise.

Then Amy and Lisa left due to sickness and pissed-ness.

So Polly and I sat and enjoyed Dan Kelly who was awesome.

The dancefloor consisten of an old man with very high shorts, a hippy with the best dance moves i've ever seen, and this strange looking punk guy who was either high, or pissed off his face. And then there was us. The music rocked, but it was sad because despite the great tunes, the venue was totally dead.
After the gig we had a word with the guitarist of Dan Kelly and the Alpha Males, who was really cool. We spoke of recorders mainly, as in - the wind instrument.

The after the pub closed, Pol and I basically went home after finding out that Byron Bay is dead on a Sunday night.
